Something lately has made me remember the years I spent in Hawaii, and dwell on some of the images I remember from that time. I think it's all of the tropical plants I've been planting and cultivating in my back yard, much as I did in Hawaii. Bananas, ginger, T leafs, ferns, phildendrons, and elephant ears....I've been planting them all over here.

I ended up painting two paintings, one from Hawaii and one from my yard.This is from my yard, the plant, The African Mask.
