He's Not Next

I rarely paint over an old painting, but I did it for this one. The original painting, lying under this one, was nine years old, and I deemed it unworthy of another out of state move. The original title of the old painting was "He's Now Next", and it was an expression of my fear of AIDS.

With the painting and the fear buried, I changed one letter of the title, and completely changed the meaning of the painting.

"He's Now Next" became:

"He's Not Next"
16" x 32"
Acrylic on Masonite
