I've had aquariums and fish all of my life, and miss not having them here in Savannah. So, unconsciously, I decided to surround myself with them in another way, I guess, and painted this. Once the painting was finished, I concluded the color scheme was probably a reflection of winter's arrival here.

Swamp Dogs

It's been raining a lot here lately, with water often bubbling up into small pools in my back yard. My dogs, Rosie and Junior, aren't quite sure what to make of all the rain and water everywhere, and most of the time, I'm not either.I decided to reuse this small frame, after i broke the glass and threw it out, otherwise I would not paint something so small.

"Just About At"

In the midst of another year of change, the title of this painting seems as ambiguous to me as my future does. It might refer to my plans to ensure my stay here in New Mexico is "Just About At" an end.

And that I'm "Just About At" the point to start something new. Or maybe it really means that I'm "Just About At" the end of my rope. But I suspect it's a bit of all those things, and more.
