"Dudes With No Name"

dudes with no Name TTL.gif
Like all of my paintings, I didn’t do any preliminary drawings or prepare much in any way before I sketched this onto the canvas and painted it. Like most of my work, I’m not quite sure what it means, and won’t know until some time in the near future.
But here are 17 anonymous guys, clothed this time, piled up in support of one another.

"Three Men In A Room"

The room is based on my bedroom, but the rest of this painting is pure fantasyland.

Species Narcissist Americanus and "09-09-09"

Nothing much to report, or to be more accurate, not much that I am going to report from the wide open road. That said, here is another de Carlo painting that I passed in between Burma Shave signs on I-95.

I finished this painting yesterday, and wanted to use my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give it the title of yesterday’s date. That’s my backyard and my garage in the background. I was considering adopting one or two more white Chihuahuas someone here is trying to give away, and this image helped convince me it probably wasn’t a good idea.

At least I didn’t hijack a plane because of the date, like that nut in Mexico did,

"Beach Boys"

beach boys title.gif
After living in the heart of Savannah for more than two years, last week I realized there is another lifestyle here I was totally oblivious to. For the first time in my life, I went riding on a friend’s boat on a river, and suddenly realized there are thousands of people here living on the banks of the many rivers, all with docks and boats, and all tied to the water and the tides.

I’ve been on boats in the ocean many times, but never experienced anything quite like this with the constantly changing scenery, the different islands, the beautiful homes, the winding rivers and tributaries, and dolphins swimming up to the small boat.

Of course I didn’t see any lost tribe of naked orange boys waiting for us on the shoreline, but that’s what I drew and started painting as soon as I got home.
